MMPC

MMPC

The MMPC (Multi Modular Patrol Corvette) Programme started as the EPC (European Patrol Corvette), a project of future innovative naval ships, developed in a collaborate way by the naval forces of Spain, France, Italy, Norway, and Greece under the banner of PeSCO (Permanent Structured Cooperation) projects.

With a total funding of 87 million Euros, the project’s first phase is expected to span 24 months aiming to provide concept/feasibility studies and initial design for a next generation class of naval vessel to be realised in different variants by adding platform weapon systems in a modular concept.

The design aims to be flexible, more energy-efficient, greener, safer, more interoperable and cyber-secured. Envisioned as a versatile platform, the MMPC may be adapted by various European countries, offering a shared baseline that can be customized to meet national requirements. Hydrus Engineering S.A. is a beneficiary partner in the project, serving as a member of the design team, alongside major industry stakeholders such as Naval Group, Fincantieri and Navantia.

EDF / RnD

EDF / RnD

Hydrus Engineering S.A. leveraging its strategic position in the national defence sector, can access funding for research and innovation by engaging in projects supported by the EDF (European Defence Fund), enhancing its technical capabilities, and increasing its visibility and credibility.

The engagement in such projects facilitates substantial technology transfer and the sharing of know-how, particularly in naval ship design, within the context of the system-of-systems approach. This collaboration naturally aligns with EU strategic defence goals, such as increasing interoperability and standardization among EU naval forces.

Through these projects, Hydrus Engineering S.A. actively contributes to and benefits from the collective advancement of defense capabilities across the European Union, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of technological innovation and strategic defense initiatives.
